BRIEF HISTORY OF US INTERVENTIONS, 2006
Originally installed at the Project Space of Winkelman Gallery and Schroeder Romero, NY

A Brief History of US Interventions presents an enormous chalkboard, on which is handwritten a brief genealogy of 163 U.S. interventions throughout the world from 1801 until 2006. At the end of the mural is a shelf with chalk and erasers, inviting the viewer to rewrite this history or insert addendums, rationales, excuses, etc. The work was conceived to evolve over time, with an incalculable set of potential outcomes leading to a 'final' version of history that survives at the end of the project.
